Entry Door Lock

Setting Up Your Salto KS Entry Door Lock System at IVY Residences

Our entry door lock and fob system, Salto KS, is designed to provide you with convenient and secure access to your home.

🏢 Getting Started with Salto KS:

  1. 📧 Receive Your Virtual Key:
    • Once you’ve signed your lease, you’ll receive an email invitation to set up your virtual key and fob system.
  2. 📲 Download the App:
    • Platform: Salto KS is available on both Android and Apple devices.
    • App Store: Search for “Salto KS” in your app store and download the app.
  3. 🔑 Set Up Your Account:
    • Open the App: Launch the Salto KS app on your device.
    • Enter Your Details: Add your email address and create a secure password.
    • Forgot Your Password? No worries! You can easily reset it within the app.
  4. 🏢 Building Access:
    • Entrance: In the app use the 103 Elevator Lobby as the main entrance to unlock the building’s front door.
    • Elevator Access: Once inside, use the Elevator to unlock the elevator, allowing you to go up or down from the lobby floor only.
  5. 🔒 Digital Key Widget:
    • Once you have the app set up, you can also download a digital key widget for your Apple or Android phone, providing even quicker access.

  6. 🚀 Enjoy Seamless Access:
    • Once your account is set up, you’ll have secure access to the building through the Salto KS system,using either your virtual key, fob, or digital key widget.
    • Property management will also provide you with a personal 6-digit PIN that you can use to access the property in the event you forget your phone or if your phone dies!

Building Enterphone - Teleportivity

QR-Based Enterphone System at IVY Residences

Our enterphone system is QR-based, offering you greater convenience and control when communicating with visitors or receiving deliveries.

Here’s How It Works:

  1. Scan the QR Code: Visitors and delivery personnel will scan the QR code located at the building entry.
  2. Get Notified: You’ll receive a call directly on your phone, allowing you to see who’s at the door.
  3. Manage Access Remotely: From the comfort of your apartment or even when you’re out, you can communicate with visitors and remotely open the entry door for them.

Getting Started is Simple! 🛠️

  1. Download the Teleportivity App:
    • An email has been sent to you with the necessary download link.
  2. Set Up Your Account:
    • Use your email address as your username and create a secure password by following the instructions in the email.
  3. Enjoy the Convenience:
    • Once set up, you’ll start receiving notifications whenever there’s a delivery or visitor at the front door. You’ll also have the ability to open the entry door remotely for easy access.

Inside Your Unit

🚿 Sprinklers:
The building and your unit are equipped with sprinklers. Please do not hit or hang anything from them to avoid damage.

🚰 Water Shut Off Valves:
Each sink, washing machine, toilet, and dishwasher has hot and cold water shut off valves. In case of a leak, turn the valve 90 degrees to stop the water.
Main Water Shut Off Valves: There’s also a main valve for your entire unit if needed.

🧺 Laundry:

  • Use high-efficiency detergent for the best washing results.
  • Important: Always clean the lint trap after every drying cycle to ensure safety and performance.

🪟 Windows:
Many windows in your unit are operable but only open up to 4 inches for safety reasons.

🛋️ Flooring:
Your flooring in the main living areas is real wood! Please clean up any spills immediately to prevent swelling.

🌡️ HVAC Thermostat:
You have an independent thermostat in your living area and each bedroom. Set each to your preferred temperature!

🔒 Entry Door Locks:
Your door uses Salto locks. For more info, check out the “entry door lock” section above.

📞 Enterphone System:
The building enterphone is QR-based. For setup instructions, refer to “Building Enterphone – Teleportivity” above.

Trash & Recycling

Location: Basement
Tip: Please break down your boxes to help keep the area tidy!

Here’s a handy list of what goes in the trash and what goes in the recycling in Pittsburgh, complete with icons to help make it easier to remember!
🗑️ Trash:

  • Food Waste: 🍕🍌
  • Plastic Bags & Wraps: 🛍️🚫 (These cannot be recycled curbside)
  • Styrofoam: 🍱☕
  • Ceramics & Dishes: 🍽️
  • Used Paper Towels & Tissues: 🧻
  • Broken Glass: 🚮🍾
  • Light Bulbs: 💡🚮 (Except for CFL bulbs, which should be taken to a drop-off site)
  • Non-recyclable Plastics: 🚮🔴 (Items like straws, utensils, and plastic toys)

  • Paper & Cardboard: 📄📦 (Includes newspapers, magazines, cardboard boxes)
  • Glass Bottles & Jars: 🍾🥒 (Clear, brown, and green glass)
  • Metal Cans: 🥫🍺 (Aluminum, steel, and tin cans)
  • Plastic Bottles & Containers: 🍼🧴 (Marked with a #1 or #2 recycling symbol)
  • Cartons: 🥛🍊 (Milk, juice, and soup cartons)
  • Flattened Boxes: 📦⬇️ (Make sure they are clean and dry)
  • Clean Aluminum Foil: 🍽️✨ (Clean and dry)

🗑️ What’s NOT Recyclable:

  • Plastic Bags: 🚫🛍️ (Consider taking them to a local grocery store that accepts them)
  • Pizza Boxes: 🍕🚫 (If they’re greasy, they belong in the trash)
  • Broken Glass: 🚫🍾 (This belongs in the trash for safety reasons)
  • Ceramics & Dishes: 🚫🍽️ (These should go in the trash)
  • Electronic Waste: 🚫💻 (Needs to be taken to an e-waste recycling facility)
    📍 Special Disposal:
  • Hazardous Materials: 🚫☠️ (Like batteries, chemicals, and electronics – check Pittsburgh’s special disposal events or drop-off locations)
  • Large Items: 🛏️🚛 (Like furniture, check for special pickup days)

🏙️ Pittsburgh’s Rule of Thumb:
When in Doubt, Throw it Out! 🚮 (If you’re unsure if an item is recyclable, it’s better to place it in the trash to avoid contaminating the recycling stream)
